Elsa, TX – Abelia Martinez, 79, passed away to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Knapp Medical Center. She was born July 1, 1942, to Esteban & Dolores Martinez in Esterito Nuevo Leon Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents; 1 grandson, Joshua Abel Martinez; 3 sisters, Anastacia Martinez, Maria Inez Martinez de Marroquin & Maria Cruz Martinez. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her children, Raymundo Martinez (Yolanda) of Hidalgo, TX, Rene Martinez (Cynthia) of Edinburg, TX, Lucila Martinez of Elsa, TX, Richard Martinez (Chris) of Elsa, TX, Abel Martinez (Angie) of Mission, TX, Esteban Martinez (Tina) of Corsicana, TX, Cristina Woolery of Elsa, TX, Lydia Martinez – Lara (Edson) of McAllen, TX & David Martinez (Gina) of Elsa, TX; 4 brothers, David Martinez of Edcouch, TX, Delfino Martinez of Roma, TX, Tomas Martinez of Houston, TX, Cecilio Martinez of Palmview, TX; 3 sisters, Enedina Martinez, Elisandra Martinez both of Washington & Paula Martinez of Houston, TX. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021 & 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021, at Refuge Rock Church, 931 Santa Rosa Ave, Edcouch, TX 78538, with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service both nights. Funeral service will be held 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Refuge Rock Church. Celebrants will be Pastor Esteban Martinez & Pastor Edson Lara. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Raymundo Martinez, Rene Martinez, Richard Martinez, Abel Martinez, Esteban Martinez & David Martinez.
