Benito Vargas

Edinburg, TX– Benito Vargas, 82, passed away to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 15, 2020 at Weslaco Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  He was born April 16, 1938 to Julian & Bonifacia Vargas in El Refugio De Los Cerros Blancos Mier y Noriega Nuevo Leon Mexico.  Mr. Vargas is preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived his wife, Isabel Moreno Vargas of Edinburg, TX; 2 sons, Isais Vargas, Ricardo Vargas (Maria Luisa) both of Edinburg, TX; 1 daughter, Eva Alaniz of Edinburg, TX & 1 sister, Ofelia Vargas of Mexico.  Also surviving are 16 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of The Angels with a 6:00 p.m. rosary.  Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 21, 2020 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg, TX.  Pallbearers will be Faustino Alaniz, Jose Luis Alaniz, Benito Alaniz, Ricardo Vargas, Jr., Bernardo Elizondo, Jr & Ricardo Vargas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco, Inc., 2602 N.
