Evangelina M. Cervantes

Weslaco, TX – Evangelina M. Cervantes, 80, passed away to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Knapp Medical Center.  She was born January 13, 1942, in Weslaco, TX, to Monico & Beatriz Mejia.  She is preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Cervantes is survived by her husband, Guadalupe Cervantes of Weslaco, TX; 3 sons, Jose Luis Mejia (Lisa) of Olympia, WA, Armando Cervantes, Jesus Cervantes both of Weslaco, TX; 1 daughter, Lupita Cervantes of Weslaco, TX; 2 brothers, Jose Enrique Mejia of Edinburg, TX, Victor Mejia, Sr. of Mercedes, TX; 3 sisters, Ella Saldivar of San Antonio, TX, Beatriz Garza of Alamo, TX & Dora Mejia of Dallas, TX. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022, with a 6:00 p.m. rosary at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of The Angels.  Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2022, at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Onesimo Carreon, Jr., Deion Cervantes, Juan Carlos Mejia, Martin Reyes, Manuel Hernandez Cervantes & Monica Sandra Mejia.
