Felipe Contreras

Weslaco, TX – Felipe Contreras, 89, passed away to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 20, 2021, at his residence.  Mr. Contreras born August 27, 1932, to Pascual & Angelita Contreras in Mexico.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maria L. Contreras; 3 brothers, Wenselao Contreras, Emiterio Contreras, Julio Contreras; 1 sister, Ancelma C. Ramirez; and 1 grandson, Juan Alberto Contreras.  Mr. Contreras is survived by 9 sons, Agapito Contreras (Norma), of Lansing, MI, Juan Jose Inez Chavarria ( Luisa) of Mexico, Emiterio Chavarria ( Rosy) of Orlando FL., Sergio Chavarria of Mexico, Jorge Luis Contreras (Liz) of Lansing, MI., Fernando Chavarria ( Rosy) of Mexico, Felipe Contreras (Irene), Jose Alberto Contreras, both of Marshall, TX, Joel Contreras (Lucia) of Laredo, TX; 7 daughters, Mercedes Castañon (Martin) of Brownsville, TX, Maria Luz Moore of Lansing, MI , Maria Chavarria of Mexico, Sylvia Contreras (Juan), Alejandrina Contreras, both of Weslaco, TX, Maria De Jesus Rodriguez of Mission, TX, Leticia Contreras-Ruffin (Jermaine) of Detroit, MI; & 1 sister, Manuela C. Reyes.  Also surviving are 62 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021, with a 6:00 p.m. rosary at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of the Heavens.  Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at St. Pius X Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Agapito Contreras, Joel Contreras, Martin Castañon, Victor Contreras, Jorge Hernandez, & Felipe V.
