Josefa R. Gonzalez

Weslaco, TX – Josefa R. Gonzalez, 91, passed away to be with the Lord, Friday, May 5, 2023, at her residence.  Mrs. Gonzalez was born March 19, 1932 to Carlos & Juana Rodriguez in China Nuevo Leon Mexico.   She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vicente Gonzalez; 1 son, Jose Luis Gonzalez; 3 sisters, Juanita Leal, Lucinda Perez, Lola Cantu; & 3 brothers, Luis Rodriguez, Paco Rodriguez, & Carlos Rodriguez.  Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by 3 sons, Noel Gonzalez of Tucson, AZ, Artemio Gonzalez (Celia), of Donna, TX, Gilberto Gonzalez (Socorro), of Weslaco, TX; 2 daughters, Lisa Vasquez (Rolando), of Mission, TX, Juanita Escamilla (Martin Sr.), of Weslaco, TX; 1 sister, Elida Villaseñor, of McAllen, TX; & 2 brothers, Rafael Rodriguez, of Corpus Christi, TX, & Fernando Rodriguez, of Garland, TX.  Also surviving are 12 grandchildren & 21 great-grandchildren.   Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023, with a 6:00 p.m. rosary at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of The Angels.  Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2023 at Highland Memorial Park.  Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco, Inc., 2602 N.
