Luis "Louie" Rene Guerra

Luis “Louie” Rene Guerra, 62, passed away to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Mission Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Guerra was born May 9, 1960, to Lauro & Imelda Guerra in Edinburg, TX.  At a young age, Louie developed a love for playing the drums in small bands.  His passion for playing lasted throughout his life.   He loved music, especially classic rock.  He also loved sports, live music, and was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys.  His passing was unexpected, leaving family and friends deeply saddened.  He is preceded in death by his father, Lauro R. Guerra; his daughter, Jennifer Marie Guerra; paternal grandparents, Adolfo & Virginia Guerra; & maternal grandparents, Amador & Librada Fernandez.  Mr. Guerra is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Gamez of Mission, TX; 5 sons, Christopher Michael Guerra of San Antonio, TX, Mark Anthony Guerra, of Weslaco, TX, Andy Fabian Gamez, of Houston, TX, Luis R. Guerra, Jr., & Jonathan Lee Guerra, both of Mission, TX; 1 daughter, April Moreno, of Kyle, TX; his mother, Imelda Guerra, of Mercedes, TX; & 1 sister, Ann Patricia Guerra, of Mercedes, TX.  Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Guerra Funeral Home – Chapel of The Angels, with a 6:00 p.m. rosary.  Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of The Angels.  Interment will follow at Ebony Grove Cemetery in Mercedes, TX.  Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco, Inc., 2602 N.
