Maria De Jesus Tapia, 81, passed away to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 22, 2019, at Knapp Medical Center. Mrs. Tapia was born June 22, 1938 to Donaciano & Maria Del Rosario Torres in Mezquitan Jalisco Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Juan Tapia; & 1 sister, Josefina Torres Pelayo. Mrs. Tapia is survived by 4 grandchildren, Naomi Tapia of Arizona, Margarita Tapia, Maria De Jesus Tapia & Juan Arturo Tapia, Jr., all of Mercedes TX. Also surviving are 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2019, with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service, at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of the Angels. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at Highland Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew Marshall. Pallbearers will be Juan Tapia, Daniel L. Mendoza, Steven Fuentes, Jose Cameron, Luis Hernandez & Juan Moreno. Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco, Inc.
