Pablo C. Mata

Pablo C. Mata, 74, passed away to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 10, 2020 at his residence.  Mr. Mata was born February 24, 1946 to Higinio & Vicenta Mata in Weslaco, TX.  He is preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Vicente Mata & 6 sisters, Juana Yanez, Inocencia Dominguez, Luisa Mata, Jacinta Luera, Maria Zavala & Amelia Gonzalez.  Mr. Mata is survived by his wife, Elva Mata of Weslaco, TX; 1 son, Paul Mata, Jr. (Rosie) of Weslaco, TX; 2 daughters, Paula Mata Sanchez (Reynaldo) of Weslaco, TX, Michelle Mata Estrella (Gabriel) of Houston, TX; 2 brothers, Saul Mata of Donna, TX, Manuel Mata of Weslaco, TX & 3 sisters, Oralia Villagomez of Alamo, TX, Francisca Garcia of Chicago, IL & Elida Hernandez of Donna, TX.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of The Heavens.  Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of the Heavens.  Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Adam Estrella, Pablo Mata III, Javier Higinio Mata, Mykal Mata, Eric Mata & James Diaz. Honorary pallbearer will be Matthew Mata & Marcus Mata.  Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco, Inc., 2602 N. Texas Ave., Weslaco, TX (956) 969-1461.
