Weslaco, TX – Pedro Ruiz, 100, passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Edinburg Nursing & Rehab.  Mr. Ruiz was born May 8, 1922, to Roberto & Angelita Ruiz in Devine, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Rogelio Ruiz & 1 sister, Fidela R. Molina.  Mr. Ruiz is survived by his daughter, Sylvia La Monda of California; 4 nephews, Rolando Molina of Mission, TX, Lupe Ruiz of Kingsville, TX, Israel Ruiz, Jose Ruiz both of Florida; 4 nieces, Noelia Escamilla, Norfila Molina both of Edinburg, TX, Noemi Hernandez of Edcouch, TX & Nelda Molina of San Juan, TX. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Jason M. La Monda, Katie M. La Monda, Jamie N. Carpenter & 1 great-granddaughter, Hailey Bobb. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2022, at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of The Angels with a 6:00 p.m. prayer service. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of The Angels. Officiating will be Rev. Rufino Sendejo of Corpus Christi, TX. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Pallbearers will Omar Escamilla, Sal Hernandez, Robert Sandoval, Michael Molina, Ramiro Paredes, Jr. & Rolando Molina.
