Petra Lopez

La Vila, TX – Petra Lopez, 91, passed away to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 2, 2023, at her residence in La Villa, TX.  Mrs. Lopez was born May 13, 1931, to Juan & Agripina Lopez in Mexico.  She is preceded by her parents.  Mrs. Lopez is survived by 15 children, Daniel Garza (Rosie) of Edcouch,  TX, Rey Lopez, Johnny Lopez, Ricky Wade (Yvonne), all of La Villa, TX, Luis Wade (Ester) of Montealto, TX, Marky Medina (Dalia), of Elsa, TX, Janie Acosta, Lidia Montelongo (Ignacio), both of La Villa, TX, Pina Hinojosa (Felix), of Elsa, TX, Mary Mendoza of Austin, TX, Martina Cantu (Reynaldo) of La Villa, TX, Alice Garcia (Jacinto) of Edinburg, TX, Susy Nava (Ruben) of Elsa, TX, Nora Garcia (Abimael), of Edcouch, TX, & Ana Garcia, of La Blanca, TX.  Also surviving are 39 grandchildren & 45 great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2023, and 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023 with a 6:00 p.m. prayer service Wednesday evening at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of the Heavens.  Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Centro Misionero Emanuel in Weslaco, TX.  Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.  Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.  Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco, Inc., 2602 N.
