Rene Flores Ramirez

Lampasas, TX – Rene Flores Ramirez, 82, passed away to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, TX.  Mr. Ramirez was born September 13, 1940, to Victor Ramirez & Ofilia Flores in Weslaco, TX. He lived his childhood as a migrant farm worker. He developed a

 desire to travel and see the world. He spent many years as a musician and singer with Ace Combo, and other bands recording several records. He later served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years, followed by his service in the Texas National Guard. He eventually entered the U.S. Army and served as a helicopter mechanic. After retiring from a 20-year career as a First Sergeant he returned to Texas Hill Country. He then married Christiane Ramirez enjoying his property in Lampasas, TX. Rene journeyed his life heroically serving God, his country and fellow man. He had a forgiving and kindhearted manner to all he knew. May God take him and give him the future he deserves. He will be missed on Earth by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor Ramirez & Ofilia Flores Ramirez Elizondo; 2 sons, Rene Javier Ramirez, Randy Ramirez; 2 brothers, Mario Elizondo, Jr., Ramon Elizondo; 4 sisters, Dorita Ramirez, Magdalena Ramirez, Clementina Elizondo Tovar & Hermelinda Elizondo Vargas.  Mr. Ramirez is survived by his wife, Christiane Ramirez; 5 sons, Rene Ramirez, Jr. (Minerva), Victor Ramirez, Eddie Ramirez (Sharol), Jon Coley, Alan Michael Leviner; 6 daughters, Judy Wray, Sandra Rodriguez, Cynthia Ramirez-Sarkesian (Greg), Irene “Penny” Hernandez, Yolanda Mangham, Amanda “Mandy” Ramirez; 3 brothers, Rojelio “Kello” Ramirez, Victor Elizondo, Horacio “Lacho” Elizondo; 3 sisters, Ofelia Ramirez Garcia, Viola Yolanda Ramirez Meave & Esmeralda Elizondo Mendez. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren & 29 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of The Angels. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of The Angels. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Military auspices are under the direction of Sgt. Benito Alaniz, Post #7473 of Elsa, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco, Inc., 2602 N.
