Romeo Ramirez

Romeo Ramirez, 88, passed away to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 9, 2021, at his residence.  Mr. Ramirez was born June 16, 1933, to Rufino & Jacinta Ramirez in Weslaco, TX.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a dedicated member of the Weslaco Lions Club.  Mr. Ramirez was recognized for his dedicated service to the children of the Texas Lions Camp, as well as for his humanitarian services towards the Lions Club International Foundation.  He was known for his valuable contribution to his community, and his country.  Mr. Ramirez is preceded in death by his parents, Rufino & Jacinta Ramirez; 2 brothers, Raul Ramirez, Rufino Ramirez, Jr. & 2 sisters, Luz Martinez & Jovita Barbosa.  Mr. Ramirez is survived by his wife, Francisca V. Ramirez, of Weslaco, TX; four children, Hilda Pena (Roy), Angie Herrera (Pablo), Romeo Ramirez, Jr. (Norma), Ramiro Ramirez (Maricruz); one brother, Rolando Ramirez; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.  Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a 6:00 p.m. rosary, Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of The Heavens.  Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Daniel M. Guerrero, Christian O. Herrera, Robert J. Pena, Michael A. Pena, Joacim Rodriguez, Johanan Mendiola.  Honorary pallbearer will be Roland Ramirez.  Military auspices will be under the direction of Sgt. Benito Alaniz, V.F.W. Post # 7473, of Elsa, TX.
