Progreso, TX – Ruth Hernandez, 57, passed away to be with the Lord, Friday, June 3, 2022, in Arlington, TX. She was born September 10, 1964, to Francisco & Sara Ortega in Weslaco, TX. Mrs. Hernandez is preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister, Juanita Ortega; 1 niece, Priscilla Garces & 1 nephew, Marcos Antonio Segura. She is survived by her husband, Francisco Hernandez of Progreso, TX; 2 brothers, Francisco Ortega, Jr. of McAllen, TX, Ruben Ortega of Grand Prairie, TX; 5 sisters, Eva Ozuna of Kansas City, MO, Elizabeth Mejorado of Carrollton, TX, Micaela Peña of Fort Worth, TX, Noemi Garces of Weslaco, TX & Sara Juanita Segura of Arlington, TX. Also surviving are numerous, nieces & nephews. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Guerra Funeral Home – Chapel of The Angels with a 6:00 p.m. prayer service. Funeral service will be 8:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Mid Valley Assembly, 131 S. Pleasantview Dr., Weslaco, TX. Officiating will be Rev. Mario Perez. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Margarito Garces, Jr., Francisco Ortega III, Aaron Ruben Lazaro Ortega, Jesse Ruiz, A.J. Lucio & Sostenes Ortega.
