Thomas Wesley Smith III

Edinburg, TX – Thomas Wesley Smith III, 79, passed away to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation.  Mr. Smith was born September 10, 1943, to Thomas, Jr. & Patsy Smith in Freeport, TX, and was a veteran of the United States Army.  Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Teresa Ann Smith, of Edinburg, TX; three children, Timothy Smith (Kathy), of Spring, TX, Samuel Smith (Diana), of Edinburg, TX, Mary Margaret Naylor (Rick), of San Antonio, TX; and two sisters, Catherine Helms (Jeff+), of Lake Jackson, TX, and Patricia Arnold (James), of Clute, TX.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Stephen Nicholas Smith, Lauren Smith, Tiffany Smith, Rebecca Smith, Benjamin Smith, Charlotte Naylor, and Oliver Naylor.  Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. rosary, Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco – Chapel of the Angels.  Funeral service will be 8:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg, TX.  Celebrant will be Fr. Tomas Luzak.  Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery.  Military auspices will be under the direction of VFW Post 8788 of McAllen.  Pallbearers will be Timothy Smith, Samuel Smith, Stephen Nicholas Smith, Benjamin Smith, Rick Naylor, & Enrique Cervantes.  Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco, Inc., 2602 N. Texas Ave., Weslaco, TX.
